Packing for an International or Overseas Move

For international moves, we strongly recommend that our professional and experienced international movers pack your belongings. Professional packers will have the expertise to ensure that your belongings are well protected for the long journey ahead using new high quality boxes, padding and packing material. Fragile items, such as valuable glassware and china, will be carefully packed in special boxes designed for optimum protection.

A few of the many packing procedures that we will use for your international move:

• We only use new packing materials and cartons
• We individually wrap all glass, china and crystal prior to packing
• Rugs and carpets are wrapped and rolled
• Each carton is labelled with the customer's name, the contents of the box and the room
• We pad all items that are not packed in cartons, including furniture and appliances.
• We dismantle furniture if required and all hardware (nuts and bolts) are placed in a master hardware moving box
• Fragile pieces will be crated for added protection

When deciding what to pack for your international move, keep in mind your destination as well as the duration of your stay. Storage of some of your household goods may be a good option if your move is short term. Also, the climate may be different and warrant leaving part of your wardrobe behind. Investigate the electrical standards of the country you will be moving to - as your electrical appliances may not work at destination.
